FERRANTE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE ANNUAL STAKEHOLDERS MEETING IN BEIJING ORGANISED BY IP KEY CHINA
On 10th September 2025, Felice MELI, partner at Ferrante Intellectual Property, participated in the IP Key China Annual Stakeholders Meeting in Beijing. The meeting brought together leading experts and stakeholders from both the European Union and China for a high-level exchange on intellectual property issues.
During the meeting, our partner Felice MELI engaged in a discussion with other experts from the judiciary, academia, and relevant organisations on navigating the IP landscape in the era of emerging technologies.
Felice's speech covered key topics regarding the protection of intellectual property rights for foreign companies in China, including: the impact of emerging technologies on the IP landscape; how right holders are facing new types of infringement created by emerging technologies; the challenges companies are encountering with new forms of counterfeiting and IP infringement related to these technologies; and the opportunity to strengthen the IP system.
In discussing these topics, Felice also shared highly relevant and up-to-date insights observed during his IP practice in China, including: (i) the use of AI as a tool for monitoring, detection, and automating the enforcement of IP rights, (ii) blockchain as a tool for preserving evidence, (iii) the latest trends and issues arising from emerging technologies in the IP world, such as platforms' "duty of care" and new types of infringements.
