On 28 May 2025, Felice MELI, partner at Ferrante Intellectual Property, participated in the 2025 (8th) EU-China Conference on IPR Protection Online & Innovation to introduce the results of the study he conducted together with the colleagues from the enforcement department of the firm's Shanghai office, concerning new trends and challenges for rights owners on Chinese e-commerce platforms.
The conference, jointly organized by EU IP Key China and the Beijing Anti-Infringement and Anti-Counterfeiting Alliance CAASA, is of fundamental strategic importance even in supporting European companies with intellectual property matters in China.
Felice's study provided relevant suggestions for legislative developments based on several key findings, including recent trends and challenges faced by IP rights owners, new legislation addressing emerging trends and challenges, and actions taken by e-commerce platforms in response.
Furthermore, during the round-table discussion, Felice provided valuable insights on how platforms can be encouraged to proactively remove infringing content and suggested policy measures to strengthen IP enforcement within China's e-commerce ecosystem.
As a full-service intellectual property firm with established offices in China and Vietnam, Ferrante Intellectual Property has developed a strong reputation for protecting European companies in intellectual property matters, offering comprehensive legal services across all aspects of IPRs, licensing, consumer protection, e-commerce, and more.
Ferrante Intellectual Property will remain available to collaborate with IP Key China and the Beijing Anti-Infringement and Anti-Counterfeiting Alliance CAASA to assist relevant institutions in developing best practices for IP protection in the Chinese market, benefiting both European and Chinese companies
